Paul DePodesta attended Harvard University and majored in economics. However, his passion was for baseball. He accepted a job from the Oakland A's and made a system that measured every players contribution. With this system, the Oakland A's were able to sign the players that would help their team the most. Paul's system was the only thing keeping the Oakland A's from being like every other low market team. Paul was one of the first people who didn't play baseball to be welcomed into baseball management. His success opened the door for other economic majors who had no expierence in the MLB.
