The Oakland A's won 102 games in 2001, but their future wasn't bright. Jason Giambi, Johnny Damon, and Jason Isringhausen, three of their major players, were leaving Oakland for more money elsewhere. The A's were going to have to try to replace those players without spending much money. Billy did what he always did when he needed to find someone, he went to Paul's computer and searched for players that had produced as good as the players he lost. He found three players that could replace them and that he could afford. Scott Hatteburg, David Justice, and Chad Bradford. They all had minor flaws that made other teams look past them. These players were just what the A's were looking for.
